Other Interesting Books
Fooled by Randomness by Nassim Taleb
A fun book about fooling yourself with pattern seeking. Wasn’t really a big fan of the trading strategy that came out of this book, but it is an entertaining way to understand risk management.
Dao of Capital by Mark Spitznagel
Mark Spitznagel was Nassim Taleb’s trading partner. Interesting because he’s got a completely different investment philosophy: Austrian Economics Investing.
He takes von Mises theory that good entrepreneurs will reinvest in their own ventures. Business owners that fail to do so will inevitably fail. It’s this and not the random “black swan” that causes market failures.
When Genius Failed by Roger Lowenstein
Very entertaining book about a bunch of geniuses losing a ton of money over their own hubris.
The Big Short by Michael Lewis
The opposite of the book above really. Michael Burry an autistic genius figures out what’s really going on before the 2008 crash.
